Why I Started License To Marry

After years working in Florida’s destination wedding industry, I realised the marriage license was causing couples unnecessary stress. I created License To Marry to change that.

Why License To Marry Exists

I Kept Seeing the Same Problem.

I didn’t start License To Marry because I wanted to process paperwork. I started it because, while working as a destination wedding photographer in Central Florida, I kept seeing couples lose valuable time dealing with their Florida marriage license.

I worked closely with wedding planners, and the same concern came up again and again: getting the marriage license was one of the biggest logistical headaches for destination couples.

Couples had travelled to Florida to celebrate — not to spend part of their holiday figuring out courthouse procedures.

I knew there had to be a better way. So in 2007, License To Marry was created to guide couples through the process before they arrived and take one important task off their wedding-planning list.

Since then, we’ve helped more than 5,000 couples navigate the Florida marriage-license process with clear instructions, personal guidance and confidence about what happens next.
